The power of radio penetrate to remote areas is undoubtful at all. Limitations of ministers and misionaries to go to remote areas could be overcome by radio which is has broadcasting range coverage that could reach millions of people who longing for the Word of God. But how can these people who live in remote areas could buy a radio if theirselves could not fulfill their own daily need. This is the reason why YASKI Foundation realized an urgent need to distribute radio to listeners who are not able to afford it by themselves.
Volunteers who are doing ministry in East Nusa Tenggara, in villages like Manufui, Kolbano, Pisan and Oeklani realized that YASKI broadcasted program was become blessing for listener community there. Those volunteers are also voluntraly translate broadcasted programs in Bahasa into their tribe language. Sometimes radio that they received is hard to receive signal because they lives in a very remote area. Many times they should walk kilometers away to higher ground in order to get better radio signal. It is such a huge longing of them to listen to the word of God. YASKI distributed 15 Panasonic radios (with SW frequency) to volunteers representative who recently came to YASKI office.
Since 2005, YASKI received 12.670 wind radios and all of them were distributed to remote areas. Most of them had been distributed to Aceh and Nias tsunami survival victims. There also 1.447 radios (without SW frequency) that had been distributed to many remote places around Indonesia. Besides that 5.993 radios (with SW frequency) were still being distributed.
