Difficulties in Kalimantan Threaten His Servants
"The cost of living in our remote area is so expensive. Mineral water per gallon is IDR 30,000 and kerosene is IDR 20,000. We only can eat sweet potatoes and corn, drink raw water because we cannot afford to boil it, and brush our teeth with coconut fiber. We sleep on smooth wood skin or dry banana tree leaves. Our clothes are torn and we attend Sunday service by only wearing short trousers and shabby clothes." | read more

Reaching Families, Congregations, and Servants of God
While there, we visited a man named Metu. He lives in a simple hut that is fetid, narrow, and dark. Metu has never stepped outside his hut because he believes it protects him from evil spirits. Metu's fear caused him to live in inappropriate ways. Metu also had terrible headaches for 3 months that medication could not cure. Not eating, not being exposed to sunshine and refusing to leave his hut just made Metu's condition even worse. | read more

The Power of Radio to Spread
    the Good News
Pdm. Melasari Sadeli represented YASKI by visiting the following 5 villages: Oeklani, Kolbano, Fotoun, Manufui, dan Nufleu. Twenty radios were distributed to twenty families at this recent event, and we're hopeful many more listener groups will spring up as a result, helping people learn more about the Word of God. Demand for radios continues to be strong, and we hope in the future we'll be able to distribute even more. | read more

Children Cry Because They Can't Finish Their Education
Scholarships were offered to 6-10 children each in the villages of Oeklani, Kalbano, Fotoun, Manufui and Nufleu. After the scholarships were distributed, some of the children cried because they did not get one. As a result, they do not know if they will be able to finish their studies, which made them very sad. We really want to provide scholarships to all the children who need them, but we simply don't have enough funds. | read more

The Foundation of Wisdom
Proverbs 9:7-12 --  "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" (Prov. 9:10). Initially, the connection between these two concepts may be difficult to grasp: How can fearing God make us wise? | read more
